Youna – „Zornvlouch“

„Zornvlouch“ is a hate-drenched, bile-spewing assault from Youna, the twisted brainchild of Mts, a shadowy figure lurking in the German underground. This is not some polished, hollow attempt at atmosphere – this is pure venom carved into sound. Mts, who has already wreaked havoc with bands like Evil Warriors and II, channels his rage and occult obsessions into this filthy debut, an album that spits in the face of the weak while staying just clean enough to avoid falling into the basement-dwelling, lo-fi crowd. YounA crafts a suffocating and sinister soundscape without needing to hide behind tape hiss and fuzz. The lyrics, all snarled in German, create a thick wall of impenetrable darkness, leaving non-German speakers clawing through the mist, unsure of what’s being screamed at them – and that’s exactly how it should be.

The opening track „Knochen…“ kicks things off with a hellish sample before tearing straight into a Black Metal onslaught that feels like being ripped apart by iron claws. The guitars shred and grind with thrash-inspired ferocity, while the tremolo picking claws its way through your skull like a rusty nail. There’s no mercy here, only pure auditory violence. But Youna isn’t satisfied with mere chaos – Mts infuses the music with haunting choral elements, adding a layer of eerie, unsettling reverence to the otherwise rabid and ferocious sound. This contrast between the raw aggression and the ghostly choirs makes the whole experience feel like a dark, twisted ritual rather than just another Black Metal onslaught. These elements don’t soften the music – they make it feel like a desecration, a perversion of the sacred.

„Vreveler“ takes that darkness even deeper, pulling back on the guitars for moments only to let the bass and drums pound the listener into dust. But don’t mistake this for anything other than Black Metal in its most primal form – there’s no avant-garde pretension here. Youna’s sound is feral, hateful, and drenched in atmosphere, but it’s also precise in its brutality. „Zornvlouch“ doesn’t offer salvation, only a relentless descent into the void. It’s a seething mass of bitterness and contempt that carves its place in the underground, leaving listeners battered and gasping for air.“
